Today Jewish groups and individuals scored a great victory.
Due to the efforts of Aish.com, the Orthodox Jewish outreach group and individuals like the academic, Dr Andre Oboler, Facebook has deleted the group "Third Intifada" from its website.
Aish.com said: “Free speech has its limits and Facebook cannot be used to launch a terror war against Israel. This shows that activism does make a difference.
“But the fight is not over. Palestinian groups are simply playing cat-'n-mouse, having reposted the "Third Intifada" page on Facebook!.
“Beyond this, Facebook still has dozens of groups calling for violence against Israel and the killing of Jews.”
Dr Oboler added: “The 3rd Intifada Page has now been closed by Facebook. About time too.”
However even as I write, the hate-filled pages are being re-launched and there are still many groups urging death to Jews.
Some months ago, Facebook’s Jewish founder, Mark Zuckerberg – or his staff - invited me to become his Facebook ‘friend’. I had to ignore this request.
I felt unable to enjoy even a virtual friendship with a fellow Jew craven enough to allow financial considerations to override his loyalty and duty to his own community.
Previously it was generally agreed that Zuckerberg and co wished to appear unbiased towards the Jewish community and its concerns. Fair enough.
But now enough is enough. He has created a Golem big enough to gobble him up. Is he man enough to destroy it before it is too late?
