About Me

My photo

I moved from dank, dark North Manchester, U.K. to Karmiel, Western Galilee, Israel in March 2010. It is, believe me, one of the sunniest, loveliest towns on earth. With a background in local Jewish journalism I continue to write freelance. I manage several blogs, have  appeared on Technorati and Blogcritics and now contribute to the online magazine, 'Live Encounters'. My main blog is Alwayswriteagain (http://wwwalwayswriteagain.blogspot.com

Israel’s Brightest and Best From NBN At Chanucah

NBN Sheds Light on Chanucah in Israel

You’ll have to watch this video to understand  exactly how the Nefesh B’Nefesh aliya (emigration to Israel) organisation left no stone unturned to produce this charming look at celebrating Chanucah in Israel.

A little more than four minutes long, it shows camel rides, Dead Sea frolics, shopping and as many (soggy!) doughnuts as a reasonable guy can eat in a mere eight days.

So, you’ve read my blurb – now watch the fun!

… And if you’re accustomed – like I was – to celebrating Chanucah in cheerless, cold, dank Britain – then you’re in for a delightful surprise.

The video does not lie: As I write on Sunday 14 November, the Israeli skies are still a cloudless perfect blue and temperatures are hitting the 80s.
