Seven dead as train, minibus collide
This is the second woefully wickedly unnecessary multi-road fatality in Israel during the past two months. The first was on the outskirts of Karmiel and was also caused by driver negligence. Time and again I've been on buses locally and have been witness to reckless driving whereas private car owners are mostly quite sensible.
Even if the driver in the latest awful episode was working privately, I think that the entire Egged bus driving team needs to be recalled and subject to fresh training. Further, anyone wishing to drive a mini-bus should have to pass a special test to earn an extra licence.
Kiryat Gat is a city in the Southern District of Israel, lying between Tel Aviv and Beersheva and is about 42 miles from Jerusalem.
