GUN-SHOTS ON MY STREET!

• Two gun-shots ripped through the pre-Sabbath quiet of Rabin, Karmiel on Friday afternoon.

• Frightened residents of Ha'Haganah Street, where the incident occurred at 3.43 p.m. local time,  rushed to their    balconies to witness several police detonating a bright green cylinder with the gun from a 'robot rover' similar to those used by soldiers in Northern Ireland during "The Troubles" which concluded in the late 1990s. Four police vehicles were used during the incident - three of them blocked the street at both ends.

• When the second blast occurred several people ran back indoors for shelter as they feared that a stray bullet may ricochet towards them.
• But the remainder of the operation passed without incident.

 

 

 

 

 

• Rabin is a quiet residential area with a wide mix of Russian and European immigrants, native Jewish-Israeli and Arab-Israeli residents.
